LICENSING - overview
Space Imaging licenses satellite data to the customer, rather than selling ownership rights. The primary distinction is that a standard end user license permits use of data but prohibits distribution, resale, reproduction, etc. Various licenses are available for different prices and each defines a unique level of permissible data distribution.
Make one copy for internal archival or backup purposes
Distribute on an isolated, non-commercial basis in a non-manipulateable format, or as part of a hard copy research report or publication
Make product available to consultants, agents and subcontractors for internal purposes
Modify and make copies of resulting project for internal use only
Copy or reproduce (even if merged with other materials), other than as consistent with permitted activities
Sell, license, transfer, disclose or use in any manner not expressly authorized
Alter or remove any copyright notice or proprietary legend
For products that Space Imaging distributes but does not own, the owners of the data have developed applicable license agreements.
If you are including any original data or information derived from our products in a new product for resale or distribution beyond the bounds of the license agreement, your proposed use of the data falls under of definition of "value-added." Under this category, you will be asked to complete an application for a value-added reseller license and a custom price will be negotiated with you. This price may include a change in the standard data price or an on-going royalty paid to Space Imaging. Space Imaging is very interested in partnering in the development of value-added products.
